How I Play My Level 130 Monk

A walkthrough of my level 130 Monk setup. Progressive build covering the Wheel of Fists XII synergy chain, the Uncia's Fang attack line, the multibind that fires every disc on a single button, the burn sequence, gear focus at 130, and how the monk pulls 1.4 to 5 million DPS depending on the mission.

January 25, 2026

The level 130 Monk is one of the strongest melee ADPS classes in the game thanks to the Wheel of Fists XII synergy chain, near-permanent group damage uplift, and a Five-Point Palm that costs almost nothing. Everything fires off the 5 button. This guide covers the disc rotation, the burn sequence, gear focus, and the durability tools that let the monk solo content if the tank goes down.

Melee ADPS One Button Rotation Box Friendly Self-sufficient
Auto-attack only~900k-1.1M DPS
Multibind sustained~1.4M DPS (dummy)
Mission peak5-6M DPS

Session Overview

What's on the bar at 130.

  • Role: Pure melee DPS plus group ADPS via Wheel of Fists XII synergy. Top three melee ADPS class.
  • Gear: Mostly Outer Brood with Uprising bits. 51 DPS two-hander. Holding for tier 3 Soulforge XXX of Unraveling Order rather than buying tier 2.
  • Hit points: ~800k. AC ~10,300 with Violet Conch of the Tempest. Surprisingly close to a warrior in survivability.
  • Multibind: Everything on the 5 button. Push once, the whole rotation fires.

Multibind Foundation

The plumbing under the rotation.

  • /xtar 19: Auto-targets whatever the tank has targeted. No /assist needed, no pause needed.
  • Attack on, merc assist on, stand: Repairs anything that fell off the previous round. Stand handles feign death and AoE knockdowns automatically.
  • Group slots: 1-6 are group, 7+ are mobs being attacked.

The Wheel of Fists XII Synergy

Why monk is top-tier ADPS.

  • Wheel of Fists XII (level 130): Synergy ability. 100% chance to trigger Master Synergy via the focus AA.
  • Master Synergy: +36% base weapon damage to the entire group (including pets and swarm pets) for 18 seconds or 120 attacks.
  • Cooldown: 30 seconds between Wheel of Fists XII activations. With gear-side reductions you get nearly 100% uptime.
  • Tiger Claw component: Wheel of Fists XII itself is a 1,037 base damage Tiger Claw on top of the buff.

Group impact: Every melee in the group gets 36% extra damage on near-permanent uptime. The monk pays for itself just by pressing 5.

Core Discipline Rotation

Everything bound to the 5 key.

  • Wheel of Fists XII: Synergy proc, on cooldown.
  • Uncia's Fang (level 124, Timer 17): Hand-to-hand attack for 1,689 plus a 22,901 magical attack. 1 minute reuse. Not upgraded in the current expansion so still using the 124 version.
  • Drunken Monkey Style: Random damage buff. Activate and hope for something useful.
  • Lifewalker's Synergy: Three flying kicks for 1,800 each, applies a debuff causing the target to take +125% damage from flying kicks.
  • Fatewalker's Precision Strike: 1,581 throwing attack with bonus throwing follow-ups.
  • Vera's Searing Shuriken: The only other throwing attack on the bar. Low damage but free.
  • Curse of Seventeen Facets: +20,000 damage from damage shields on the target. If struck 112 times, triggers a 462,000 doom on curse-lift. 30 second reuse, fire on cooldown.
  • Swift Reflexes: Blocks the next 3 melee hits and deals 395 damage back. 5 minute reuse, 1 hour buff. Endurance regenerates fast enough to ignore the cost. Quietly overpowered.
  • Reciprocal Form (rank 4): +1,800 1H, +3,191 2H, +2,281 special attack damage. 5 minute reuse, 10k endurance. ~3% of the bar.
  • Swift Tail's Chant: Group restores 1,400 endurance and absorbs 3% melee damage as endurance for the duration. 10 minute reuse.
  • Zan Fi's Whistle: Passive +24% melee damage, +530 1H blunt, +1,075 2H blunt, +800 flying kick. Procs Zan Fi's Echo for 280,000 damage.
  • Two-Finger Wasp: +180% Tiger Claw / Eagle Strike / Dragon Punch damage for 1 minute. 3 minute reuse.
  • Five-Point Palm: Consumes 2% HP for 470,000 damage plus a 1,100 tail rake. Free with 14k HP regen.
  • Improved Intimidation: +65% Tiger Claw / Eagle Strike / Dragon Punch damage for 30 seconds plus a 3 second stun.
  • Disarm: On the multibind for the situations that need it.
  • Aureate's Bane: Outer Brood curse cleanse. Costs nothing if there's no curse, free to leave on the bind.

Tiger Claw vs Eagle Strike

Two attack flavors, two purposes.

  • Eagle Strike: Triggers Divine Surge of Battle for 950 endurance back. Use when endurance is tight.
  • Tiger Claw: Pure damage, no resource refund.
  • Round Kick: Stun option.
  • Flying Kick: Highest sustained damage option for the special slot.
  • Default: Tiger Claw on the bar, swap to Eagle Strike when the endurance bar starts dipping.

Always-On Buffs

Standing self buffs.

  • Master's Aura: Level 70 monk aura, still relevant.
  • Familiar: Current expansion familiar.
  • Violet Conch of the Tempest: +78 AC, 13 damage shield click.

Burn Sequence

Stacking everything for peak DPS.

  • Silent Strikes: Aggro reduction. Open with this.
  • Focus of Destructive Force: Single-target damage focus.
  • Infusion of Lightning: Proc trigger for 5,000-10,000 per hit.
  • Spire of the Sensei: Damage and crit scaling.
  • Breastplate click (Seven Chakra's Healing Technique): Next 20 flying kicks proc Demon Crusher for 131,000 each. Soulforge XXX of Unraveling Order upgrade hits harder.
  • Heel of Zagali: 30 second flying-kick damage boost, 15 minute reuse.
  • Heron's Stance: Burn slot.
  • Eagle's Symmetry: Triggers extra Tiger Claw attacks.
  • Speed Focus: Attack speed boost. Shares the discipline timer.
  • Terror Palm: Damage discipline. Same timer slot, fires when Speed Focus rolls off.
  • Iron Fist Discipline / Bahamut's Rage / Two Pose Stance: Lower-level disciplines for the 90+ second mark. Some don't stack.
  • Glyph of Ultimate Power: Slot zero when max AA. Not yet on this character.

Burn 8 timing: Spam button 7 then button 8 in sequence. Heel of Zagali fires off 7, Eagle's Symmetry off 8. As Heel falls off after 30s, hitting 8 again triggers Speed Focus. 30s later it triggers Terror Palm. The discipline slot does the cycling for you.

Defensive Tools

Why the monk can solo if the tank dies.

  • Improved Mend: 25 second reuse, restores nearly full HP. Bound to numpad 2, not on the multibind.
  • Earth Force Stance: 24 second duration, 3 minute reuse. Better than warrior Final Stand for the duration. Pop after a battle res while the tank gets back up.
  • Delayed Death: 1 minute duration, 10 minute reuse, no discipline slot cost.
  • Counterforce Discipline: Absorbs 15% incoming damage and procs an attack-slow on the target. ~72 second duration, 10 minute reuse.
  • Swift Reflexes: Already on the multibind, blocks 3 hits.

Solo capability: Monk + shaman + bard cleared level 125 named in Outer Brood without a warrior. Mend plus Earth Force keeps the monk standing as a backup tank.

Gear Targets at 130

What to aim for, slot by slot.

  • Two-hander: Bo Staff of Unraveling Order.
  • Armor: Soulforge XXX of Unraveling Order.
  • Ring: Rings of the Harbinger (The Outer Brood).
  • Neck: Collars of Legacies Lost (Laurion's Song).
  • Mask: Mask of the Vortex (Shattering of Ro).
  • Power source: Riven Arcana Slayer Source.
